Church Membership
If you’re looking for a church home, we invite you to prayerfully consider the Ray Memorial Presbyterian Church. For additional information, or to begin the process, just speak to the Pastor. He’d welcome the chance to visit you in your home, or even share a meal in a convenient restaurant.
A Presbyterian Church receives members in three ways:
- Those who’ve never belonged to a Christian church are received by Profession of Faith (and if required, Baptism).
- Those who haven’t belonged to another church for several years are received via Reaffirmation of Faith.
- Those who’ve belonged to a church in the recent past are received by Letter of Transfer.
On the Sunday of reception, new members meet with Session prior to worship, and then during worship publicly acknowledge their faith in Christ Jesus.
